| We really want everyone to enjoy and learn about the plants in our flower beds. We all appreciate that plant names can be confusing and intimidating. Horticulture enthusiasts may know plants by their Latin botanical names. Other plant lovers may know them by their ‘common’ names. Those new to plants and gardening may not know any plant names. Latin names sometimes change as botanists learn more about plant origins. We have selected names that we think will be most familiar to you. These include a mix of botanical Latin names and widely and locally used ‘common’ names. As many of our plants are kindly donated we do not often know their precise genus or species. We are constantly learning about and identifying our donated plants. If there is a particular plant you are interested in identifying please contact us… we are always happy to try and help. Disclaimer Our plants are grown for ornamental purposes only. We do not advise touching or ingesting any parts of the plants on the Duns Flowerbed Trail.
