Bee Wild during Summer

Wildlife Welcomer --- UK annual and perennial Meadow Mix of 21 different seeds.   The flowers and seeds of a meadow seed mix will attract butterflies, bees, hoverflies, seed eating birds and many other wildlife creatures. You can sow a wildlife meadow in Autumn for Spring flowering the following year, or in Spring for a Summer flowering in the same year. Meadow seed mixes thrive on poor quality soil and do not like to be fertilised. Wildflower Meadows usually contains annuals such as field poppies, cornflowers, corncockles and marigolds. If the seed mix also includes perennials these will include ox-eye daisies, red campion, knapweed, field scabious and chamomiles. You can choose different seed mixes to suit your soil type and location. We are waiting excitedly to see which of the seeds thrive in our ‘Bee Wild’ bed.  Did you know? Annual means that the plant will complete its lifecycle from germination to the production of seeds in one year then it will die. These plants will disperse their seed to create new plants the following year. This is called ‘self seeding’. A ‘Perennial ‘ is a plant that lives for more than two years. It will usually die back to the ground each winter and then reappear the following Spring.
